Agastya–Lopāmudrā: Marriage, Austerity, and Conditions for Conjugal Union (लोमशकथितम्)
गयस्य यज्ञे के त्वद्य प्राणिनो भोक्तुमीप्सव: । तत्र भोजनशिष्टस्य पर्वता: पठचविंशति:,“गयके यज्ञमें लोग यही पूछते फिरते थे कि “कौन-कौन ऐसे प्राणी रह गये हैं जो अभी भोजन करना चाहते हैं?” वहाँ खानेसे बचे हुए अन्नके पचीस पर्वत शेष रह गये थे
gayasya yajñe ke tv adya prāṇino bhoktum īpsavaḥ | tatra bhojana-śiṣṭasya parvatāḥ pañcaviṃśatiḥ ||
في قربانِ غايا كان الناس يطوفون يسألون: «مَن من الأحياء ما زال يرغب في الطعام اليوم؟» ومع ذلك، وبعد الإطعام، بقيت خمسٌ وعشرون كومةً من الطعام الفائض، كأنها جبال.
शमठ उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of generosity in a yajña: feeding is so abundant that even after asking whether anyone still wishes to eat, vast leftovers remain—implying that a righteous rite includes open-handed nourishment and care for all.
In describing Gaya’s sacrifice, the speaker reports that people were inquiring whether any beings still wanted food, and despite such extensive feeding, twenty-five mountain-like heaps of leftover food were still left.
