The verse highlights the dharmic value of tīrtha-yātrā: sacred places preserve collective memory and offer purification and renewed orientation toward the divine order, here emphasized by calling Prabhāsa a tīrtha of the gods.
Dhaumya is guiding Yudhiṣṭhira through a catalogue of pilgrimage sites, noting that Camasoddhedana is spoken of in that region and that Prabhāsa lies on the ocean’s shore, famed as a divine holy place.
