युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya
गोमतीगड़्योश्वैव संगमे लोकविश्रुते । अग्निष्टोममवाप्रोति कुलं चैव समुद्धरेत्,राजेन्द्र! गोमती और गंगाके लोकविख्यात संगमके समीप मार्कण्डेयजीका दुर्लभ तीर्थ है। उसमें जाकर मनुष्य अग्निष्टोमयज्ञका फल पाता और अपने कुलका उद्धार कर देता है
gomatīgaṅgayoś caiva saṅgame lokaviśrute | agniṣṭomam avāpnoti kulaṃ caiva samuddharet ||
قال بولاستيا: بالقرب من ملتقى نهر غوماتي ونهر الغانغا المشهور في العالم يقع مَعبرٌ مقدّس نادر منسوب إلى الحكيم ماركاندييا. من قصده نال ثواب قربان «أغنيشتوما» وبذلك يرفع شأن سلالته ويخلّصها—مبيّناً أن الحجّ إلى المواضع المقدّسة إذا أُدّي بخشوع يطهّر الفرد ويصل أثره إلى خطّ العائلة بفضل كسب الدارما.
