घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches the dharmic value of tīrtha-yātrā: bathing at a revered sacred ford is presented as a means of purification and protection from durgati (a harmful moral/spiritual outcome).
A speaker instructs the king on the next pilgrimage stop: after previous sites, one should go to the Lalitaka tīrtha associated with Śāntanu, where bathing is said to prevent falling into misfortune or an evil destiny.
