युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya

तत्र कूपोदकं कृत्वा तेन स्नात: शुचिस्तथा । पितृन्‌ देवांस्तु संतर्प्य मुक्तपापो दिवं व्रजेत्‌,वहाँ कुएँका जल लेकर उससे स्नान करके पवित्र हो देवताओं और पितरोंका तर्पण करनेसे मनुष्यके सारे पाप छूट जाते हैं और वह स्वर्गलोकमें जाता है

tatra kūpodakaṃ kṛtvā tena snātaḥ śucis tathā | pitṝn devāṃs tu saṃtarpya muktapāpo divaṃ vrajet ||

هناك، إذا استقى المرء ماءً من البئر واغتسل به صار طاهرًا. ثمّ إذا قدّم التَّرْپَنَة—سَكْبَ الماء على سبيل الإكرام—للآباء الأسلاف وللآلهة، تحرّر من كلّ خطيئة وبلغ السماء.
