एवं तया यथोक्तो वै गत्वा राजानमब्रवीत् | ऋतुपर्ण महाराज सुदेवो ब्राह्मणस्तदा,महाराज! दमयन्तीके इस प्रकार बतानेपर सुदेव ब्राह्मणने राजा ऋतुपर्णके पास जाकर वही बात कही
evaṃ tayā yathokto vai gatvā rājānam abravīt | ṛtuparṇa mahārāja sudevo brāhmaṇas tadā ||
وهكذا، كما أوصتْه تمامًا، مضى البراهمن سُوديفا وأبلغ الملك بالأمر. وخاطبه باحترام قائلاً: «يا مها راجا رِتوبَرْنا»، ثم نقل رسالة دَمَيَنْتي كما هي، بقولٍ أمينٍ وأداءٍ كاملٍ لواجب الوساطة.
बृहदश्च उवाच
The verse highlights fidelity to entrusted speech: a messenger should convey a message exactly as received, with respect and without distortion—an ethical ideal aligned with satya (truthfulness) and proper duty (dharma).
After Damayantī’s instructions, Sudeva the brāhmaṇa goes to King Ṛtuparṇa and reports her words, formally addressing him as “Mahārāja,” thereby advancing the plot through dutiful communication.
