स काम इति मे बुद्धि: कर्मणां फलमुत्तमम्‌ | 'पाँचों ज्ञानेन्द्रियों, मन और बुद्धिकी अपने विषयोंमें प्रवृत्त होनेके समय जो प्रीति होती है, वही मेरी समझमें काम है। वह कर्मोका उत्तम फल है

sa kāma iti me buddhiḥ karmaṇāṃ phalam uttamam |

قال فايشَمبايانا: «في فهمي، إن اللذّة التي تنشأ حين تتوجّه حواسّ المعرفة الخمس، ومعها الذهن والعقل، إلى موضوعاتها الخاصة—تُسمّى كاما (الرغبة). وتُعدّ أكرم “ثمرة” تجنيها الأفعال.»
