वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma through respectful conduct toward ascetics: after arriving safely and regaining strength, the heroes honor a tapasvin brāhmaṇa with an appropriate offering, reflecting gratitude, humility, and the ethical duty of dāna.
The heroes reach a hermitage, recover from their exertion, and then present a forest-appropriate gift (āraṇeya) to an ascetic brāhmaṇa, marking a courteous and dharmic interaction within the forest setting of the Vana Parva.
