देवाश्वापि यदावोचन् सूतके त्वां धनंजय
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca |
devāś cāpi yadā vocan sūtake tvāṃ dhanaṃjaya |
dharmaputro mahābāhur vilalāpa suvistaram ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: «يا دهنانجايا، حتى عند طقوس مولدك تكلّم الآلهة عنك»، ثم إن دهرمابوترا عظيمَ الساعدين أخذ ينوح نواحًا طويلًا. ويُبرز هذا البيت أن حزن يودهيشثيرا اشتدّ باستحضار الضمانات الإلهية بعظمة أرجونا المقدّرة، مُظهِرًا توتّرًا أخلاقيًا بين الإيمان بفضيلةٍ مُتنبَّأ بها وبين وطأة الخسارة التي تبدو حاضرةً لا مفرّ منها.
