Power and courage are not sufficient without discipline and dharma; ignoring a rightful injunction (answering the Yakṣa’s questions before drinking) brings immediate consequence, illustrating the primacy of restraint and right conduct over mere strength.
The Yakṣa addresses Bhīma and poses questions as a condition; Bhīma, driven by urgency and confidence, drinks the water without replying, and instantly collapses unconscious—showing the Yakṣa’s power and setting up the later dharma-centered resolution.
