पास्यामि तावत् पानीयमिति पार्थो वृकोदर: । ततो<भ्यधावत् पानीयं पिपासु: पुरुषर्षभ:
pāsyāmi tāvat pānīyam iti pārtho vṛkodaraḥ | tato 'bhyadhāvat pānīyaṃ pipāsuḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||
قال بارثا (أرجونا) لڤريكودارا (بهيم): «سأبحث أولًا عن الماء.» ثم اندفع ذلك الفحل بين الرجال، وقد أنهكته العطش، مسرعًا نحو الماء—فبدأت بذلك المحنة الأخلاقية التي ستطالب قريبًا بالكفّ، والتوقير، وطاعة المشورة الحقّة بدل الاندفاع وراء الحاجة العاجلة.
