तस्य भार्याभवद् राजन् रूपेणासदृशी भुवि । राधा नाम महाभागा न सा पुत्रमविन्दत,राजन्! उसकी परम सौभाग्यवती पत्नी इस भूतलपर अनुपम सुन्दरी थी। उसका नाम था राधा। उसके कोई पुत्र नहीं हुआ था
tasya bhāryābhavad rājan rūpeṇāsadṛśī bhuvi | rādhā nāma mahābhāgā na sā putram avindata rājan ||
قال فايشامبايانا: «أيها الملك، كانت زوجته لا نظير لجمالها على وجه الأرض. وكانت تلك السيدة العظيمة الحظ تُدعى رادها؛ غير أنها، أيها الملك، لم تُرزق ابنًا».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that outward excellence and good fortune (beauty, high status) do not guarantee desired outcomes such as progeny; it subtly points to the limits of human control and the complex workings of fate, merit, and circumstance in epic narrative.
Vaiśampāyana describes a man’s wife to the King: she is extraordinarily beautiful, named Rādhā, and despite her auspiciousness she remains without a son—setting up a background detail relevant to lineage and subsequent events.
