पुरुषस्य परे लोके कीर्तिरेव परायणम् | इह लोके विशुद्धा च कीर्तिरायुर्विवर्द्धनी,परलोकमें कीर्ति ही पुरुषके लिये सबसे महान् आश्रय है। इस लोकमें भी विशुद्ध कीर्ति आयु बढ़ानेवाली होती है
puruṣasya pare loke kīrtir eva parāyaṇam | iha loke viśuddhā ca kīrtir āyur-vivarddhanī ||
قال كارنا: «للرجل في العالم الآخر، ليس له ملجأ أعلى من الصيت وحده. وفي هذا العالم أيضاً، فإن السمعة الطاهرة التي لا تشوبها شائبة تسند الحياة، ويُقال إنها تزيد في طول العمر.»
