यक्षोपाख्यान-प्रवेशः

Entry into the Yakṣa-Lake Episode

नारद उवाच अहो बत महत्‌ पापं सावितन्र्या नृपते कृतम्‌ अजानन्त्या यदनया गुणवान्‌ सत्यवान्‌ वृतः,(यह सुनकर) नारदजी बोल उठे--अहो! यह बड़े खेदकी बात है। राजन! सावित्रीने बिना जाने ही अपना बड़ा अनिष्ट किया है, जो कि इसने सत्यवानको गुणवान्‌ समझकर वरण कर लिया है

nārada uvāca | aho bata mahat pāpaṃ sāvitr̥yā nr̥pate kr̥tam | ajānantyā yad anayā guṇavān satyavān vr̥taḥ ||

قال نارادا: «وا أسفاه! أيها الملك، إن هذا لزَلَلٌ جسيم اقترفته سافيتري. إذ لم تعرف الحقيقة، جلبت على نفسها أذًى عظيمًا، لأنها اختارت ساتياڤان ظانّةً أنه رجلٌ ذو فضيلة.»
