When unrighteous forces are checked by righteous power, they often resort to deception (māyā). The verse highlights vigilance: victory in dharma is not only physical but also requires discernment against renewed illusion.
Rama destroys the assembled rākṣasas using a divine weapon. In response, the rākṣasa king does not desist but creates another illusion, escalating the conflict through magical deception.
