क्रुद्धों हि कार्य सुश्रोेणि न यथावत्‌ प्रपश्यति । नाकार्य न च मर्यादां नर: क्रुद्धोडनुपश्यति,सुन्दरी! क्रोधी मनुष्य किसी कार्यको ठीक-ठीक नहीं समझ पाता। वह यह भी नहीं जानता कि मर्यादा क्‍या है (अर्थात्‌ क्या करना चाहिये) और क्‍या नहीं करना चाहिये

kruddho hi kāryaṃ suśroṇi na yathāvat prapaśyati | nākāryaṃ na ca maryādāṃ naraḥ kruddho'nupaśyati, sundarī |

قال يودهيشثيرا: «إذا استولى الغضب على المرء، يا ذاتَ الخصرِ الحسن، لم يعد يرى الأمر على حقيقته. وفي تلك الحال لا يميّز ما لا ينبغي فعله، ولا يعود يبصر حدود السلوك القويم؛ فالغضبان يفقد كلاً من ضبط النفس وصواب الحكم.»
