Sāvitrī’s Trirātra-Vrata and Departure with Satyavān (सावित्रीव्रतनिश्चयः सहगमनं च)
मा विषीद नरव्याप्र नैष कश्रिन्मयि स्थिते | छिन्ध्यस्य दक्षिणं बाहुं छिन्न: सव्यो मया भुज:,“नरश्रेष्ठी तुम खेद न करो। मेरे रहते यह राक्षस कोई चीज नहीं है; इससे तुम्हें कोई हानि नहीं पहुँच सकती। तुम इसकी दाहिनी बाँह काट डालो। मैं बायीं भुजा काट रहा हूँ!
mā viṣīda naravyāghra naiṣa kaścin mayi sthite | chindhy asya dakṣiṇaṃ bāhuṃ chinnaḥ savyo mayā bhujaḥ ||
قال ماركاندييا: «لا تحزن، يا نمرَ الرجال. ما دمتُ قائمًا هنا فهذه الرّاكشسا لا شيء؛ لن يقدر أن يؤذيك. اقطع ذراعه اليمنى—أما اليسرى فقد قطعتها أنا.»
