मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Righteous action is strengthened by gratitude and loyal friendship: Jatāyu grounds his relationship with Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa in his prior bond with Daśaratha, showing that dharma includes honoring past ties and offering protection to the vulnerable.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates how Jatāyu introduces himself to Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, blessing them and declaring that he is the vulture-king and a friend of their father Daśaratha—setting the stage for his supportive role in their forest ordeal.
