The verse highlights a moral pattern: violence rooted in adharma and arrogance leads to downfall, while disciplined strength aligned with righteousness prevails. It also shows how reports of wrongdoing and its consequences can become the catalyst for further ethical choices—either repentance or escalation.
Śūrpaṇakhā, having suffered humiliation and loss, reports to Rāvaṇa the full story of Rāma’s heroism and the defeat of the rākṣasa forces led by Khara and Dūṣaṇa. This narration functions as a turning point that provokes Rāvaṇa’s response.
