Mārkaṇḍeya’s Consolation to the King: Exempla of Rāma and the Efficacy of Allies (मार्कण्डेयाश्वासनम्)
विभीषणस्तु धर्मात्मा सतां मार्गमनुस्मरन् । अन्वगच्छन्महाराज श्रिया परमया युत:,महाराज! विभीषण धर्मात्मा थे। उन्होंने सत्पुरुषोंके मार्गकका ध्यान रखकर सदा अपने भाई कुबेरका अनुसरण किया; अतः वे उत्तम लक्ष्मीसे सम्पन्न हुए
Vibhīṣaṇas tu dharmātmā satāṁ mārgam anusmaran | anvagacchan mahārāja śriyā paramayā yutaḥ ||
قال ماركاندييا: «إنّ فيبيṣaṇa كان بارّ القلب، مستحضرًا طريق الصالحين. أيها الملك، إذ واصل السير على نهج الفضيلة، أُوتي أسمى الازدهار والنعمة».
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Remembering and adhering to the conduct of the virtuous (satām mārga) is presented as the basis of dharmic success; such alignment with dharma naturally brings śrī—auspicious prosperity and moral stature.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes Vibhīṣaṇa as inherently righteous and as one who follows the path of good people; because of this steadfast adherence, he is said to become endowed with supreme prosperity.
