पत्याश्रयो हि मे धर्मो मतः स्त्रीणां सनातन: । स देव: सा गतिर्नान्या तस्य का विप्रियं चरेत्‌,“मैं यह मानती हूँ कि पतिके आश्रयमें रहना ही स्त्रियोंका सनातन धर्म है। पति ही उनका देवता है और पति ही उनकी गति है। पतिके सिवा नारीका दूसरा कोई सहारा नहीं है, ऐसे पतिदेवताका भला कौन स्त्री अप्रिय करेगी?

patyāśrayo hi me dharmo mataḥ strīṇāṃ sanātanaḥ | sa devaḥ sā gatir nānyā tasya kā vipriyaṃ caret ||

إني أرى أن الدَّرْمَا الأبدية للمرأة هي أن تعيش في كنف زوجها وحمايته وهدايته. فهو إلهها، وهو ملاذها الأعلى—ولا ملاذ سواه. فإذا كان الزوج كذلك، فأيُّ امرأةٍ تُقدم على ما يُغضبه؟
