Duryodhana Seized by Citraseṇa; Kaurava Petition to Yudhiṣṭhira (दुर्योधनापहारः / चित्रसेनगन्धर्वग्रहणम्)
ऋषिशि: सम्परित्यक्ता धर्मयुक्ता महाव्रता: । द्रुतमागम्य चोचुस्ता देवसेनापतिं प्रभुम्,वे धर्मपरायणा तथा महान् पातिव्रत्यका पालन करनेवाली थीं, तो भी ऋषियोंने उन्हें त्याग दिया था। अतः उन्होंने देवसेनाके स्वामी भगवान् स्कन्दके पास शीघ्रतापूर्वक आकर कहा--
ṛṣibhiḥ samparityaktā dharmayuktā mahāvratāḥ | drutam āgamya cocus tā devasenāpatiṁ prabhum |
قال ماركانديّا: «مع أنّهنّ ثابتات على الدارما، متمسّكات بالنذور العظيمة، فإنّ الرِّشيّات قد هجروهنّ. لذلك أسرعن إلى الاقتراب من الربّ، قائد الجموع الإلهية، وخاطبنه قائلين…»
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Even when one is righteous and disciplined, social or ascetic authorities may still reject them; in such distress, the text highlights turning toward a higher divine authority for protection and moral resolution.
A group of women described as devoted to dharma and strict vows have been abandoned by sages; they hasten to Skanda, the commander of the gods’ army, and present their case to him.
