Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)
स तु गत्वा द्विज: सर्वा शुश्रूषां कृतवांस्तदा । मातापितृभ्यां वृद्धाभ्यां यथान्यायं सुशंसित:,घर जाकर उस ब्राह्मणने अपने माता-पिताकी सब प्रकारकी सेवा-शुश्रूषा की और उन बूढ़े माता-पिताने प्रसन्न होकर उसकी यथायोग्य प्रशंसा की
sa tu gatvā dvijaḥ sarvāṁ śuśrūṣāṁ kṛtavāṁs tadā | mātāpitṛbhyāṁ vृद्धābhyāṁ yathānyāyaṁ suśaṁsitaḥ ||
ثم إن ذلك البراهمي، لما عاد إلى بيته، أقبل على كل صنوف الخدمة والرعاية اليقِظة لأمّه وأبيه الشيخين. فسرّ الوالدان المسنّان به، وأثنيا عليه ثناءً يوافق الحقّ واللائق.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Dharma is shown through śuśrūṣā—humble, sustained service to one’s aged parents; such conduct is ‘yathānyāya’ (in accord with propriety) and naturally earns rightful praise.
Markandeya narrates that the brahmin returns home and diligently serves his elderly mother and father; satisfied, they commend him appropriately for his dutiful behavior.
