Adhyāya 208: Aṅgirasī-kanyāḥ
Enumeration of Aṅgiras’ daughters and attribute-names
सत्यं वदे नाभ्यसूये यथाशक्ति ददामि च । देवतातिथि भृत्यानामवशिष्टेन वर्तये,सत्य बोलता हूँ। किसीकी निनन्दा नहीं करता और अपनी शक्तिके अनुसार दान भी करता हूँ। देवताओं, अतिथियों और भरण-पोषणके योग्य कुटुम्बीजनों तथा सेवकोंको भोजन देकर जो बचता है उसीसे शरीरका निर्वाह करता हूँ
satyaṁ vade nābhyasūye yathāśakti dadāmi ca | devatātithi-bhṛtyānām avaśiṣṭena vartaye ||
قال الصيّاد: «أقول الصدق ولا أُكثر من تتبّع العيوب، وأتصدّق على قدر طاقتي. وبعد أن أقدّم الطعام أولاً للآلهة، وللضيوف، ولمن يعولهم بيتي—أهلي وخدمي—لا أقتات إلا بما يتبقّى.»
