Adhyāya 208: Aṅgirasī-kanyāḥ
Enumeration of Aṅgiras’ daughters and attribute-names
चिन्तयान: स्वधर्मस्य सूक्ष्मां गतिमथाब्रवीत् । श्रद्धधानेन वै भाव्यं गच्छामि मिथिलामहम्,फिर अपने धर्मकी सूक्ष्म गतिपर विचार करके वह मन-ही-मन बोला--“मुझे (उस सतीके कथनपर) श्रद्धा और विश्वास करना चाहिये; अतः मैं अवश्य मिथिला जाऊँगा
cintayānaḥ svadharmasya sūkṣmāṃ gatim athābravīt | śraddadhānena vai bhāvyaṃ gacchāmi mithilām aham ||
وإذ كان يتفكّر في المسار الدقيق لدارمته هو، قال في نفسه: «ينبغي للمرء أن يعمل بإيمانٍ وثقة؛ لذلك سأمضي حقًّا إلى مِثيلا.»
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Dharma can be subtle and difficult to judge, so one should deliberate carefully and then act with śraddhā (trust/faith) rather than paralysis or cynicism; ethical action requires both discernment and committed resolve.
After inwardly considering the fine nuances of his duty, the speaker reaches a decision: he should place trust in what has been said and therefore he resolves to go to Mithilā.
