The verse underscores that exemplary royal dharma—embodied by King Śibi’s famed righteousness and generosity—is worthy of being preserved and transmitted by authoritative sages like Nārada, making ethical greatness a model for rulers and listeners.
Vaiśaṃpāyana, as the frame-narrator, states that Nārada has already narrated to the king the celebrated account of King Śibi’s greatness; this line functions as a transition/summary marker within the ongoing story.
