मनुना च प्रजा: सर्वा: सदेवासुरमानुषा: । स्रष्टव्या: सर्वलोकाश्ष यच्चेड़ं यच्च नेड़ति

manunā ca prajāḥ sarvāḥ sadevāsuramānuṣāḥ | sraṣṭavyāḥ sarvalokāś ca yac cedaṃ yac ca neḍati ||

قال ماركانديّا: «وبيدِ مانو كان ينبغي أن تُنشأ جميعُ الكائنات—الآلهةُ والآسورا والبشر—وكذلك جميعُ العوالم؛ بل كلُّ ما هو موجودٌ هنا، وكلُّ ما لا يتحرّك (أو هو جامد)، كان ينبغي أن يُخلَق.»
