Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
नदतां शृणु निर्घोषं भीम पर्वतसानुषु । 'भीम! इन पर्वतशिखरोंपर मोरिनियोंके साथ विचरते बोलते हुए मोरोंका यह मधुर केकारव तो सुनो
nadatāṁ śṛṇu nirghoṣaṁ bhīma parvata-sānuṣu |
قال فايشَمبايانا: «يا بِهيما، أَصْغِ إلى دَوِيِّ النداءات المتردِّد على سفوح هذه الجبال—إنه النداء العذب الرنّ لطيور الطاووس، تمشي وتُنادي وهي تجوب القمم مع إناثها.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights attentiveness to the natural world as a means of steadying the mind during hardship; in the forest-exile setting, beauty and harmony in nature can temper agitation and support endurance.
The narrator addresses Bhīma and draws his attention to the reverberating, sweet calls of peacocks on the mountain slopes, painting a vivid scene of the wilderness through sound and atmosphere.
