न्यवारयत् तौ प्रहसन् कुन्तीपुत्रो वृकोदर: । शक्तोहं राक्षसस्येति प्रेक्षध्वमिति चाब्रवीत्,परंतु कुन्तीकुमार भीमसेनने हँसकर उन दोनोंको रोक दिया और कहा--“मैं अकेला ही इस राक्षसके लिये पर्याप्त हूँ। तुमलोग चुप-चाप देखते रहो”
nyavārayat tau prahasan kuntīputro vṛkodaraḥ | śakto'haṃ rākṣasasye'ti prekṣadhvam iti cābravīt ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: فضحك بهيما—ابن كونتي، فريكودارا «ذو بطن الذئب»—وأمسكهما عن التقدّم وقال: «أنا وحدي كافٍ لهذا الراكشاسا. الزما الصمت واكتفيا بالمشاهدة.» وتُبرز هذه اللحظة عزم بهيما الحامي وثقته، إذ يتولّى بنفسه مسؤولية صون رفاقه من الخطر.
