The colophon frames the episode as part of a tīrtha-yātrā (pilgrimage), implying that travel through sacred places is a discipline of dharma: endurance, humility, and purification are treated as ethical-spiritual practices, and the narrative is organized to highlight that sacred geography can shape character and conduct.
This line is a concluding colophon: it announces that the chapter has ended and situates it within the Mahābhārata’s Vana Parva, specifically the pilgrimage section led by Lomāśa, focusing on the Pandavas’ (and companions’) entry into the Gandhamādana region.
