Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)
तपोबलेन महता बाहुवेगबलेन च । नित्यमेव दुराधर्षो धर्षयन् स दिते: सुत:,“अपने महान् तपोबल तथा वेगयुक्त बाहुबलसे वह देवताओंके लिये सदा अजेय बना रहता था और स्वयं सब देवताओंको सताया करता था
tapobalena mahatā bāhuvegabalena ca | nityam eva durādharṣo dharṣayan sa diteḥ sutaḥ ||
مُنِحَ ابنُ دِيتِي قوةَ تَقَشُّفٍ عظيمةً وزخمَ سواعدَ جارفة، فكان على الدوام عسيرَ الغَلَبة. ظلّ أبداً غيرَ مقهورٍ أمام الآلهة، وبغرورِ قوّته كان يواصل إيذاءهم واضطهادهم بلا انقطاع.
लोगश उवाच
Power gained through tapas and physical might is ethically neutral; when joined with arrogance and aggression it becomes a cause of adharma—manifesting as oppression of others (here, the Devas). The verse highlights that invincibility without restraint tends toward harassment rather than protection.
Logaśa describes Diti’s son as continually invincible due to great ascetic power and formidable arm-strength, and says that he repeatedly tormented the gods—setting up the conflict between the Devas and a powerful Daitya.
