स तप्यमान: सुमहत् तपो योगसमन्वित: । आससाद महात्मानं त्र्यक्षं त्रिपुरमर्दनम्
sa tapyamānaḥ sumahat tapo yogasamanvitaḥ | āsasāda mahātmānaṃ tryakṣaṃ tripuramardanam ||
وبينما كان يحتمل تقشّفًا بالغًا، متقنًا منضبطًا في اليوغا، اقترب من الرب العظيم ذي العيون الثلاث—شيفا، مدمّر تريبورا.
लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights that intense tapas, when joined with yogic discipline (focused mind and restraint), becomes a means of approaching the divine; spiritual attainment is portrayed as requiring both effort (austerity) and inner integration (yoga).
A practitioner engaged in severe austerities and yoga comes into the presence of Śiva, identified by epithets ‘Three-eyed’ and ‘Destroyer of Tripura,’ indicating a moment of seeking divine audience and potential boon or guidance.
