कालेय इति विख्यातो गण: परमदारुण: । तैश्व वृत्रं समाश्रित्य जगत् सर्व प्रमाथितम्,दैत्योंका एक अत्यन्त भयंकर दल है जो कालेय नामसे विख्यात है। उन दैत्योंने वृत्रासुरका सहारा लेकर सारे संसारमें तहलका मचा दिया था
kāleya iti vikhyāto gaṇaḥ paramadāruṇaḥ | taiś ca vṛtraṃ samāśritya jagat sarvaṃ pramāthitam ||
كانت هناك جموعٌ من الدانافا تُعرَف باسم «الكاليّات»، بالغةَ الفظاعة. احتمَوا بفِرترا، فألقَوا العالمَ كلَّه في اضطرابٍ عظيم، وقهروا جميعَ الكائنات قهرًا عنيفًا.

When violent forces unite under a powerful leader and act without restraint, the result is pramāda and pramathana—social and cosmic upheaval. The verse frames such oppression as a sign of adharma that calls for restoration of order and protection of beings.
The speaker describes a notorious and terrifying band of Dānavas called the Kāleyas. By aligning themselves with (or taking support of) Vṛtra, they caused widespread devastation and panic across the world.
