इन्द्रस्य दुःखप्राप्तिः—त्रिशिरोवधः, वृत्रोत्पत्तिः, जृम्भिकाजननम्

वेदानेकेन सो5धीते सुरामेकेन चापिबत् । एकेन च दिश: सर्वा: पिबन्निव निरीक्षते
vedānekēna so 'dhīte surām ekēna cāpibat | ekena ca diśaḥ sarvāḥ pibann iva nirīkṣate |
قال شاليا: «بفمٍ كان يتلو الفيدا، وبفمٍ آخر كان يشرب الخمر، وبفمٍ ثالث كان يحدّق إلى الجهات كلها كأنه سيشربها شربًا.» يرسم هذا القول صورةً مقلقة أخلاقيًا: مظهرُ العلم المقدّس إلى جانب الانغماس والشهوة المفترسة، دالًّا على نفاقٍ ورغبةٍ جامحة لا على انضباطٍ حقّ.
