Krishna’s Entry into Hastināpura and Court Reception
dharmyam arthyaṁ ca dharmātmā dhruvaṁ vaktā janārdanaḥ | tasmin vācyāḥ priyā vāco bhavatā bāndhavaiḥ saha ||
Trust the guidance of a truly dharmic person: Kṛṣṇa’s counsel will harmonize moral duty (dharma) with practical welfare (artha). Therefore, approach such a guide with respectful, conciliatory speech rather than harsh or divisive words.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations, Vaiśaṃpāyana underscores Kṛṣṇa’s reliability as a counselor and urges the concerned party to speak to him courteously, along with their relatives, to support peaceable and constructive deliberation.
