Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 69: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Reverential Address to Sañjaya on Vāsudeva

वे सत्यसे कभी च्युत नहीं होते और न सत्त्वसे अलग ही होते हैं

na jāyate janitrāyam ajas tasmād anīkajit | devānāṁ svaprakāśatvād damād dāmodaro vibhuḥ ||

قال سانجيا: إنه لا يزيغ قطّ عن الحق، ولا ينفصل عن السَّتْفَة؛ فلذلك، لاتصاله بالسَّدْبهافا (sadbhāva)، أي جوهر الاستقامة، يُدعى «ساتفَتا» (Sātvata). ويسمّي الحكماءُ الفيدا «آرْشا» (Ārṣa)؛ ولأن الرب يتجلّى متلألئًا بنور الفيدا، فله اسم «آرْشَبها» (Ārṣabha). وباقترانه بـ«آرْشَبها» يُسمّى «فْرِشَبْهِكْشَنَ» (Vṛṣabhekṣaṇa) (إذ تُفَسَّر vṛṣabha أيضًا بأنها الفيدا، وهي كالعين التي تُعرِّف وتكشف). والرب الشامل، قاهر جيوش الأعداء، لا يولد من مُنْجِبٍ ما؛ لذلك يُدعى «أَجَ» (Aja)، أي «غير المولود». ولأن الإلهي نورٌ بذاته، قيل له «أُدَر» (Udar)، أي «الأشدّ تجلّيًا»؛ ولأنه متّصف بـ«دَمَ» (dama)، أي ضبط الحواس، قيل له «دامَ» (Dāma). ومن اجتماع «دامَ» و«أُدَر» عُرف باسم «دامودَرَ» (Dāmodara).
