उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)

य एव यत्न: क्रियते परराष्ट्रविमर्दने । स एव यत्न: कर्तव्य: स्वराष्ट्रपरिपालने

ya eva yatnaḥ kriyate pararāṣṭra-vimardane | sa eva yatnaḥ kartavyaḥ svarāṣṭra-paripālane ||

قال فيدورا: إن العزمَ نفسه الذي يبذله الناس لسحق مملكةٍ أخرى ينبغي أن يُصرف—بالمقدار ذاته ومن غير فتور—إلى حماية المملكة الخاصة وحسن تدبيرها. فهذه الوصية تُحوِّل الطموح من العدوان إلى رعاية الأمانة، وتُشير إلى أن سياسة المُلك الحقّة هي صونُ ما وُكِّل إليك لا طلبُ المجد بإيذاء الآخرين.
