Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 3 — Sātyaki on Inner Disposition, Legitimacy, and Coercive Readiness
पज्चैतान् पाण्डवेयांस्तु द्रौपद्या: कीर्तिवर्धनान्
pañcaitān pāṇḍaveyāṁs tu draupadyāḥ kīrtivardhanān
قال فَيْشَمْبَايَنَة: «هؤلاء الخمسة، أبناء الباندافا—المولودون من دروبدي—كانوا يزيدون مجدها وذكرها.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the cultural-ethical value placed on lineage and reputation: worthy offspring are seen as sustaining and increasing a mother’s honor and renown.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana identifies the five Pāṇḍava-born sons of Draupadī and characterizes them as ‘enhancers of her fame,’ situating them within the family and succession context of the Udyoga Parva.
