Sanjaya’s Counsel Toward Conciliation
न युज्यते कर्म युष्मासु हीन॑ सत्त्वं हि वस्तादृशं भीमसेना: । उद्धासते हाञ्जनबिन्दुवत् त- च्छुश्रे वस्त्रे यद् भवेत् किल्बिषं व:
sañjaya uvāca | na yujyate karma yuṣmāsu hīnaṃ sattvaṃ hi vo tādṛśaṃ bhīmasenāḥ | uddhāsate hāñjanabinduvat tac chukre vastre yad bhavet kilbiṣaṃ vaḥ ||
قال سانجايا: «يا أبناء بهيما (بهيمسينا)، لا يمكن لعملٍ دنيء أن يستقرّ فيكم، لأن قوتكم الباطنة ونبلكم على تلك الشاكلة. ولو كانت فيكم زلّةٌ ما، لبرزت بغير التباس—كالبقعة السوداء من الكُحل على ثوبٍ أبيض—لا تستطيع أن تختفي.»
