भीष्मस्वप्न-स्मृत्युपाख्यानम् | Bhīṣma’s Dream-Linked Recollection of the Paraśurāma Combat
ततो<ब्रवीत् सागरगा जिह्दां चरसि भाविनि । नैष कामो5नवलद्याड़ि शक््य: प्राप्तुं त्वयाबले
tato 'bravīt sāgaragā jihvāṃ ca rasi bhāvini | naiṣa kāmo 'navaladyāḍi śakyaḥ prāptuṃ tvayābale ||
ثم قال راما: «يا من تسيرين في المحيط، يا رقيقة—إن لسانك حقًّا يجول بلا قرار. غير أنّ هذه الشهوة لا تُقضى؛ فلا سبيل لكِ، وأنتِ ضعيفة، إلى بلوغها.»
राम उवाच
Desire must be measured against reality and capacity; ethical restraint means recognizing what cannot or should not be pursued and curbing impulsive craving.
Rāma addresses a feminine figure described as ocean-moving, remarking that her tongue roams restlessly and declaring that the particular desire she seeks is unattainable for her due to weakness or lack of capacity.
