लोकस्तं वेद यदहं पितु: प्रियचिकीर्षया । प्राप्तं राज्यं परित्यज्य ब्रह्म॒चर्यव्रते स्थित:,सारा जगत् यह जानता है कि मैं मिले हुए राज्यको पिताका प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे ठुकराकर ब्रह्मचर्यके पालनमें दृढ़तापूर्वक लग गया
lokas taṃ veda yad ahaṃ pituḥ priyacikīrṣayā | prāptaṃ rājyaṃ parityajya brahmacaryavrate sthitaḥ ||
قال بهيشما: «إن العالم كلَّه يعلم هذا: رغبةً مني في فعل ما كان محبوبًا لأبي، نبذتُ المُلك الذي آل إليّ، وثبتُّ راسخًا في نذر البراهماتشاريا—نذر العِفّة مدى الحياة.»
