श्रमार्ताश्च वहन्तस्तं नहुषं पापकारिणम् । देवर्षयो महाभागास्तथा ब्रह्मर्षयो5मला:,महाभाग देवर्षि तथा निर्मल अन्त:करणवाले ब्रह्मर्षि पापाचारी नहुषका बोझ ढोते-ढोते परिश्रमसे पीड़ित हो गये थे
śramārtāś ca vahantas taṃ nahuṣaṃ pāpakāriṇam | devarṣayo mahābhāgās tathā brahmarṣayo 'malāḥ ||
قال شَليَة: «إن الدِّيفَرِشِيَّاتِ الممجَّدين والبْرَهْمَرِشِيَّاتِ الأطهار الذين لا دَنَسَ فيهم، لما حملوا نَهُوشَةَ الآثم، أصابهم الإعياءُ وأضناهم التعب.»
शल्य उवाच
Adharma—especially pride and sinful conduct—creates a burden that harms not only the wrongdoer but also pressures and pains the righteous; therefore one should restrain arrogance and act so that others are not forced to suffer for one’s faults.
Śalya recounts how Nahusha, having become a ‘pāpakārin’ through misconduct, was borne along by Devarṣis and Brahmarṣis; the sages, despite their greatness and purity, became exhausted from carrying him.
