Agni-hymn, discovery of Indra, and the Nahuṣa threat
ब॒हस्पतिर्वाच मानुषो नहुषो राजा देवर्षिगणतेजसा । देवराज्यमनुप्राप्त: सर्वान् नो बाधते भृूशम्
Bṛhaspatir uvāca mānuṣo Nahuṣo rājā devarṣi-gaṇa-tejasā | devarājyam anuprāptaḥ sarvān no bādhate bhṛśam ||
قال بْرِهَسْبَتِي: «يا سيد الآلهة، إن نَهُوشَةَ، ملكَ البشر، وقد تزوّد ببريق جماعة الرِّشِيّات الإلهيين وقوتهم الروحية، قد نال سيادة السماء؛ وهو الآن يرهقنا جميعًا ويقهرنا قهرًا شديدًا.»
शल्य उवाच
Legitimate power gained through others’ merit or spiritual force can still become destructive when driven by arrogance; dharma requires restraint and protection of others, not oppression.
Bṛhaspati reports that Nahuṣa, a human king, has obtained the rule of heaven through the potency associated with the divine seers and is now tormenting the gods, creating a crisis of order.
