न मे पापो>स्त्यभिप्राय: पाण्डवान् प्रति केशव । ज्ञातमेव हितं वाक््यं यन्मयोक्त: सुयोधन:,“केशव! पाण्डवोंके प्रति मेरा भाव पापपूर्ण नहीं है। मैंने दुर्योधनसे जो हितकी बात बतायी है, वह आपको ज्ञात ही है
na me pāpo 'sty abhiprāyaḥ pāṇḍavān prati keśava | jñātam eva hitaṃ vākyaṃ yan mayoktaḥ suyodhanaḥ ||
قال دِهرتراشترا: «يا كيشافا، لا أضمرُ نيةً آثمةً تجاه الباندافا. وأنت تعلم سلفًا ما قلته لسويودhana من نصحٍ حسنٍ مقصودٍ به الخير.»
धृतराष्ट उवाच
A ruler’s inner intention and public counsel are ethically significant, yet mere claims of goodwill do not absolve responsibility if one fails to restrain injustice—Dhṛtarāṣṭra asserts purity of intent and points to his advice, highlighting the tension between intention, speech, and effective action.
In the Udyoga Parva’s lead-up to war, Dhṛtarāṣṭra addresses Kṛṣṇa, insisting he bears no malicious intent toward the Pāṇḍavas and reminding Kṛṣṇa that he had already offered beneficial counsel to Duryodhana.
