Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 13: Śacī’s Delay, Deva-Counsel, and Indra’s Purification
Nahuṣa uvāca: evaṁ bhavatu suśroṇi yathā mām iha bhāṣase | jñātvā cāgamanaṁ kārya satyam etad anusmareḥ ||
The verse emphasizes satya (truthfulness) and accountability in action: agreement in words must be matched by follow-through in conduct—after understanding one’s duty, one should act accordingly and remember the commitment as binding truth.
Nahuṣa responds to a woman he addresses as “suśroṇi,” accepting her proposal or statement (“so be it”), while instructing her to return/come after considering what is required, and to keep his words in mind as a true and firm condition.
