नारद उवाच
Merit (dharma) is not merely private; it can be directed toward a purpose connected with family continuity, because the benefits of progeny are understood as shared—linking personal righteousness with intergenerational responsibility.
The speaker addresses a king and offers accumulated merit to be accepted for a specific end, grounding the request in the principle that all people partake in the fruits associated with offspring.
