विदुर्य कपिल देवं येनार्ता: सगरात्मजा: । सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी महर्षि कर्दमसे उत्पन्न हुए “चक्रधनु” नामक महर्षि इसी दिशामें रहते थे, जिन्हें सब लोग “कपिलदेव”के नामसे जानते हैं। उन्होंने ही सगरके पुत्रोंको भस्म कर दिया था
Yūparṇa uvāca: Vidura, Kapila-devaḥ sa ṛṣiḥ yena ārtāḥ Sagarātmajāḥ bhasmīkṛtāḥ. Sūrya-sama-tejasvī Mahārṣiḥ Kardamasya utpannaḥ “Cakradhanu” nāma mahārṣiḥ asyāṃ diśi vasati; taṃ sarve “Kapiladeva” iti jānanti. Sa eva Sagarasya putrān bhasma cakāra.
قال يوبَرْنَة: «يا فيدورا، في هذا الاتجاه بعينه يقيم الحكيم الإلهي كابيلا—متلألئًا كالشمس—مولودًا من الماهرشي كَردَمَة، ويُعرَف أيضًا بالريشي المسمّى تشاكْرَدَهَنُو. والناس جميعًا يعرفونه باسم “كابيلاديفا”. وهو الذي أحرق أبناء ساغارا المكلومين حتى صاروا رمادًا.»
