Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 2 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry for His Kin and the Vision of a Punitive Realm
निवेदयामास च तद् धर्मराजचिकीर्षितम् | यथोक्तं धर्मपुत्रेण सर्वमेव जनाधिप,नरेश्वर! दूतने वहाँ धर्मपुत्र युधिष्ठिरकी कही हुई सारी बातें कह सुनायीं और यह भी निवेदन कर दिया कि वे क्या करना चाहते हैं
nivedayāmāsa ca tad dharmarāja-cikīrṣitam | yathoktaṁ dharmaputreṇa sarvam eva janādhipa naraśvara |
قال فَيْشَمْبَايَنَة: إنّ الرسولَ رفع إلى ملكِ الناس تقريراً كاملاً، مطابقاً لما قاله دَرْمَابُتْرَ يُدْهِشْتِيرَا، ونقل أيضاً مقصده—ما الذي أراد الملكُ البارّ أن يفعله—فأبرز عزيمته أمام الحاكم على وفق الدارما.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic communication: a messenger must convey both the exact words and the true intention of the righteous king, emphasizing fidelity, responsibility, and ethical transparency in royal affairs.
A messenger delivers to a ruler the complete message spoken by Yudhiṣṭhira (Dharmaputra) and additionally reports what Yudhiṣṭhira intends to do next, moving the story forward by formally presenting his resolve.
