Utathya’s Instruction: Royal Dharma, Restraint of Pride, Protection of Subjects
उभौ लोकावभिप्रेक्ष्य राजानमृषय: स्वयम् । असृजन् सुमहद् भूतमयं धर्मो भविष्यति
ubhau lokāv abhiprekṣya rājānam ṛṣayaḥ svayam | asṛjan sumahad bhūtamayaṃ dharmo bhaviṣyati ||
وبالنظر إلى العالمين معًا—هذه الحياة وما بعدها—أوجد الحكماءُ الملكَ بأيديهم، كائنًا عظيمَ الشأن شديدَ البأس متجسّدًا في صورة إنسان. أرادوه دارما متجلّية: حاكمًا تُساق قوته بالأخلاق، فيحفظ النظام هنا ويصون الخير هناك.
उतथ्य उवाच
Kingship is justified as an ethical institution: the king is envisioned as Dharma in embodied form, meant to protect order and welfare with an eye on both worldly stability and otherworldly merit.
Utathya explains that the sages, considering the needs of both this life and the next, deliberately created/established the king as a powerful human embodiment intended to function as visible Dharma for society.
