अरण्यवृत्ति-वैराग्योपदेशः | Forest Discipline and the Program of Non-Attachment
साधुगम्यमहं मार्ग न जातु त्वत्कृते पुनः । गच्छेयं तद् गमिष्यामि हित्वा ग्राम्यसुखान्युत
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | sādhugamyam ahaṃ mārgaṃ na jātu tvatkṛte punaḥ | gaccheyaṃ tad gamiṣyāmi hitvā grāmyasukhāny uta ||
قال يودهيشثيرا: «إنّي لقادرٌ حقًّا أن أسلك الطريق الذي وطئه أهل الفضيلة؛ أترك لذّات الدنيا، وأمضي حيث يقود ذلك السبيل. لكن من أجلك أو بإلحاحك، لن أقبل المُلك مرةً أخرى أبدًا».
युधिछिर उवाच
True dharma may require renouncing comfort and even power; ethical resolve is shown by refusing rulership when it conflicts with one’s conscience, choosing the virtuous path over worldly gain.
In the aftermath of the war, Yudhiṣṭhira expresses a firm intention to abandon ordinary pleasures and follow the path of the righteous, while declaring that he will not accept the kingdom again merely due to another’s insistence.
